The Library Staff at the Reference & Information Desk will be able to provide you with information on library services and basic assistance with OPAC usage, certain databases, general reference works etc.
External users pursuing research and who would like to do reference work need to provide some form of Residential Proof.
Reprographic Service (Photo Copying)
Photo copying services are located inside the Library from 10.00a.m. to 4.00 p.m.
The Digital Library contains an extensive collection of educational
videos, CD ROMs, DVDs etc. It is open during the working
hours of the library. There are facilities for individuals and for
small groups to watch videos.
Workstations installed in the Library for Modernizing and Automation of the Library operations and services. The Library resources materials have been computerized by using AUTOLIB software. The AUTOLIB software is an integrated Library Management Software for library automation. The various sections that are automated are
– Acquisition Section -Periodicals (Journals) Section
– Catalogue Section – Binding Section
– Circulation Section -Research Cell
– Bar-coding of Membership Identity Cards
The Faculty and Students of the college are issued a single bar-coded Identity card and users of the library can use the same Identity card for borrowing resources.
On-line Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) Service
The computerized bibliographic details of the books and periodicals are available in the library through the OPAC (On-line Public Access Catalogue) service. Separate computer system is provided to the users of the library for this service. The users can choose from different search options like
– Author – Classified (Call No)
– Title -Words within title
-Subject – Any other Keywords using Boolean Operators
In addition to that, the availability of journals issues and bound volumes can also be cross checked using the OPAC service. Whenever a journal issue arrives, the same is entered immediately in the computer and thus the availability of such journal issues can be accessed from the system.
Most of the users of the Library are using the On-line Public Access Catalogue to find the documents of the college Library.

E-Resources (On-line) Access & Internet Service
E-Resources are the result of rapid development of Internet facility in the Libraries. It is most useful for Research and users of the library.
The scholarly resources available on-line can be browsed and searched in different ways and thereby save the search time of the users.
Access to e-resources (e-Books and e-Journals) is available through N- LIST National Library and Information Services infrastructure for Scholarly Content program me under UGC INFLIBNET
DRBCCC Hindu College Library is Wi-Fi enabled with internet connectivity and providing full time browsing facility/internet connectivity for the users.
A Number of Systems with latest technology are provided to the users of the library to access the above facilities. All the on-line resources are available based on our I.P. Address and user name / passwords.
An exclusive Research Wing in College Library has been established with computers and printer with internet facility and a collection of thesis and research methodology books for the benefit of research scholars and P.G. students browsing and reference.
The users should enter with bar coded Identity Card and entry time should be recorded in the Electronic Gate register through computer system.
Similarly, when users they leave the library the out time should be entered in the gate register.Silence must be observed inside the college library and loud talking is prohibited in all parts of the library. Use of mobile phones and eatable items inside the library is not permitted.
Photography/videography inside the library is prohibited normally,but special permission can be obtained from the college authorities.
Marking /highlighting on books is objectionable and may lead to cancellation of membership privileges.
Our college library is following Open Access System and hence the users have the privilege of direct access to book shelves.
Users utilizing the On-line Journals and Internet Browsing facilities should enter the, name, login time and logout time in the register kept for this purpose in the respective section.
Any infringement of the above will render the privilege of admission and borrowing books from the library liable to forfeiture.
MEMBERSHIP AND ADMISSION
Admission to the Library is restricted to members, but others who are desirous in consulting the resources of the Library may do so with the permission of the Librarian. Permission can be refused without assigning any reasons. Non-members have to pay necessary fees for referring as decided by the college authority from time to time.
Books on loan can be recalled at any time irrespective of the period of loan at the discretion of the Librarian
Bound volumes and loose issues of periodicals, reference books, damaged books, and, CD-ROMs will not be issued Before leaving the counter the users must ascertain if the books borrowed by them are in good condition and if not, they must immediately report to the circulation counter. Otherwise they shall be held responsible for the resources.
Loss of books borrowed by the members should be reported immediately to the Librarian in writing. Photocopying of library books and journals may only be carried out within the Copyright regulations. Members can utilize the photocopying facility provided inside the Library on payment.
NO DUES CERTIFICATE
No Dues Certificate is issued to a student if he/she has returned all books and cleared all dues. This is done before they write the final semester of university examinations or are issued transfer certificate, whichever is earlier.
