Rules of Discipline
  • The students should conduct themselves in such a manner that they do not bring any discredit to the college. They should uphold the good name of the college.
  • They should be courteous and respectful towards all the members of the staff.
  • They are required to be in the class room before 9.30 a.m. They should observe prayer in the class room during the first hour.
  • They should seek permission before entering the office or staff room.
  • They should seek the permission of the Principal before joining Associations, not connected with the college.
  • They should desist from dirtying and defacing the college campus and should not indulge in damaging the college properties. Failure to comply with this is punishable.
  • No notice of any kind shall be circulated among the students or pasted on the notice board without the approval of the Principal.
  • Misappropriation of articles is punishable. Students finding articles not belonging to them should hand over the same to the Principal / Office Superintendent.
  • Students should keep the college premises clean and tidy.
  • While attending college functions and department celebrations the students shall conduct themselves in such a way as to bring credit to themselves and to the institution.
  • No student should leave the class room without the permission of the teacher.
  • Students will not be permitted to leave or come late to the class under any pretext such as paying fees or library transaction. Time fixed for such purposes during office hours must be adhered to strictly.
  • Students who do not bring the required text books or learning materials and aids will not be permitted to attend the class.
  • Eve-teasing, Ragging, Alcoholism, taking drugs, playing cards and other such unsocial acts will lead to immediate dismissal from the college.
  • Smoking inside the campus is strictly prohibited.
  • Late coming and indifference to studies shall be considered violation of order and discipline. Absence from tests, examinations, non-submission of exercises assignments in time and coming late to the classes without valid reasons, will be viewed very seriously.
  • Loitering, shouting, whistling and other such acts that cause nuisance in the premises of college are strictly prohibited.
  • Entertaining outsiders in and outside the college campus and indulging in anti-social activities are serious offences and are punishable.
  • Organising mass absence from classes / holding agitations and demonstrations and instigating violence inside or outside the campus are considered breach of discipline.
  • All circulars will be displayed on the notice board. Students should cultivate the habit of looking at the notice board every day. Ignorance of any notice thus displayed will not be accepted as an excuse for failing to comply with directions contained in it.
  • Men students shall have no entry into the ladies common room / lounge.
  • Students are strictly forbidden from collecting money for any purpose without the permission of the Principal.
  • Bicycles and other vehicles must be parked safely and properly in the allotted places.
  • The Professor or the Head of the Department concerned shall have power to impose fine and  / or to cancel attendance of students for specific period in case of inattentiveness /  indifference to studies, and other minor offences. The fine imposed shall not exceed Rs.10/- for each offence and the cancellation of attendance shall not exceed three days at a stretch.
  • If a student shows indifference or comes late to the class without any valid reason, then the Professor engaging that class has the power to cancel the attendance for the student.
  • Use of Cell phones in the college campus is strictly prohibited. Further, the Cell phones will be seized if the students violate this rule and it will be returned only to their parents.
  • In the larger interest of the college and if the circumstances warrant, the Principal in consultation with the college council may take any disciplinary action including expulsion against any erring student without calling for an explanation from him / her.
  • No student(s) shall in any manner prevent any other student or students from attending his / her / their class(es) or doing his / her / their lawful duty.
  • As the Principal has the overall responsibility for the maintenance of discipline and proper academic atmosphere in the campus, he/she shall be the final authority in disposing of disciplinary matter without prejudice in the larger interest of the college.
  • If the student commits a serious offence, or violate the rules and regulations of the college or bring disgrace  to the college by any means the Principal may impose any of the following punishments:
    • Imposition of fine including collective fine
    • Cancellation of attendance
    • Suspension from the college for a specific period
    • Detention
    • Expulsion from the college depending upon the degree and seriousness of the offence
    • Withholding Character Certificate or making adverse remarks in the Transfer and Conduct Certificate.
